Easy Cream Peas
Wonderfully easy and delicious cream peas. These are great with some southern fried chicken.

Ingredients

15 oz
Cans peas
1½
cups
milk
divided
¼
cup
flour
salt and pepper
to taste
2
tbsp
butter
Instructions
Drain peas, reserving ¼ cup of liquid
Pour peas and reserved liquid into stockpot
Add 1 cup of milk
Heat but do not boil
Mix ½ cup of milk with the flour in a shaker and shake well
Add flour and milk mixture to the peas and stir
Cook over medium heat until thickened
Reduce heat to low and cook for about 10 minutes; stirring often
Add salt, pepper, and butter; cook for another 5 minutes
If the peas are too thick, add a little milk.
