Creamed Peas
This is a super easy and quick side dish perfect for any southern meal. We serve cream peas any time we are having fried chicken. It is a fantastic comfort food.
Easy Cream Peas
Wonderfully easy and delicious cream peas. These are great with some southern fried chicken.

Ingredients
- 2- 15 oz Cans peas
- 1½ cups milk divided
- ¼ cup flour
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp butter
Instructions
- Drain peas, reserving ¼ cup of liquid
- Pour peas and reserved liquid into stockpot
- Add 1 cup of milk
- Heat but do not boil
- Mix ½ cup of milk with the flour in a shaker and shake well
- Add flour and milk mixture to the peas and stir
- Cook over medium heat until thickened
- Reduce heat to low and cook for about 10 minutes; stirring often
- Add salt, pepper, and butter; cook for another 5 minutes
- If the peas are too thick, add a little milk.
